Time to wrap up the vacation, before all the good parts slip my memory forever. Best place in the Caribbean : St. Maarten Island/ Orient Beach......which albeit, is a nude beach. BUT! before jumping to conclusions to why I enjoyed it so much....check this out, there are 2 sides....nude, and not-nude. We were on the not-nude side, which is actually just topless....alright...ANYWAY. The water at this beach was AMAZING....to say the least. We spent the entire day here and had the MOST relaxing time ever. The food at the beach side restaurant was delicious, and the local beer was tasteeeee! Something funny....when we were in the restaurant, I asked for a list of beers. For some odd reason they didn't sell the locally brewed Wadali beer that I had from the little beach beer hut. What they did have however, was Amstel.....not light....but BRIGHT. I thought it was very strange, they called it Amstel Bright. Anyhow, it was good too. Beer taste critic would be a fun job for me, but I would be awful at it.....
Wadali : " I'll give that two thumbs up"
Amstel Bright : " goes great with pizza, two thumbs up"
Banana Spider Ale : " Offered a great flavor boost to that sugar cane" "again...two thumbs up"
etc.....etc....etc...
Awesome Diner table.
We found ourselves sitting with some of the nicest and funniest people I have ever met.
Gale and her two daughters Terri, and Julie from Colorado
Jack and his wife Bobbi , from Florida
I won't go into it too much, because we will remember these people for the rest of our lives. They want us to visit them someday, I think they may have thought we wouldn't actually do it...or else they may not have said that:)
If you are reading this, and haven't been on a cruise with Royal Caribbean.....stop, go the bank....get $5000.00 dollars ( this doesn't have to be your money, but I would recommend using your own) And grab someone you know....it doesn't have to be anyone special(the ship is so big, you could go the whole week without seeing them once). In fact, here is a fabulous idea. You can take me, and I will bestow on to you, my extensive cruising knowledge.
Honestly, it was the best money I have ever spent. The service, the people, the beaches, and the Ship ( not boat ) were all incredible. I hope that we can do that again soon ( well, maybe not too soon.....with the baby and all).
Speaking of the baby, thank goodness....Michelle has not been sick for almost 48 hours!!! I almost blew it a few minutes ago when she smelled my garlicky cheeseburger:) She seems to be feeling much better ( or just complaining less),and she had eggs this morning for breakfast for the first time in 3 months.
I will close today up with this. Someday my children may get the opportunity to read some of these random and mostly confusing thoughts of mine ( and Michelle's....if I can get her to stop doing image searches for Tim Mcgraw for like five seconds). And I really want to let Him/Her know that I am doing all I can to protect them from danger while they grow inside Momma's belly......and in my ongoing research and observation, I have discovered that we have a top secret, family hideout shelter, with food, and even a chemical suit to protect you from......I guess...mosquito's. :) It was a noble idea....you know who you are....and I love you.
