Thank you Aunt Nan and Uncle Dick for the tickets last night to Nickel Creek! It was a great concert, we really enjoyed ourselves (after the 2 mile hike from where we parked). That was my first visit to the Interlochen Arts Camp, and I must say that I was very impressed. The theater was amazing. It offered a view out to the lake but is still completely surrounded to block the wind. The band was incredible, I am not particularly into blue-grass music, but these guys just rocked it out. The lead singer/mandalin player was doing some crazy 4 notes per second and dancing like a maniac. He seemed to be sipping something from a red cup......my guess is some good Kentucky moonshine, strait from a radiator. We got home around midnight, so I am a bit tired today.
I was attempting to compare the lead singer to the guitarist Keith Richards from The Rolling Stones, and before I could get the name of the band off my lips.....Aunt Nan pipes in with "The Rolling Bones" ........She is a hoot! (and very clever) .
Experimentation with mentos and diet coke continues, and I believe we have found one of the more exciting effects of combining the two. Although we may not be able to bring this new finding to the Family reunion, it will be taught and demonstrated so that everyone can enjoy it at home:) Having said that, we have been hard at work at our REAL demonstration, and working out the many glitches. I will hope for the best and expect the worst, but all in all....it will be entertaining.
What a great first concert for the baby!! Lets hope he/she doesn't arrive as a hillbilly, although I guarantee he/she will be a music lover. If I can just keep Michelle away from Tim Mcgraw concerts until after the pregnancy is over.......possibly my child will have some good musical taste. I shouldn't say that I guess, since Michelle really likes him for his music......(eyes rolling)
