It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!!!! I really love Christmas time. Although this Christmas is going to be much different than usual. The only thing we can think about this year is the amazing present inside Michelles' belly. We have not put up a tree, and to calm anyone down who may be quite put off by this........the one and only reason we are not doing a tree is because of our lack of space. We are not being Grinch's........ And actually, we do have a tree up. My mother-in-law was gracious enough to put together a small Christmas tree for Michelle and I. We put it in the window to show that we DO have Christmas spirit! This will be a very fun Christmas for me. Not only do I have a baby soon on the way, but we will have lots of time to spend together before he comes.
Michelle's class threw her a suprise baby shower today. I thought it was the coolest thing. A few of her parents got together and came up with the idea, and all the students were in on it, and were able to keep it all a secret! The gave us a huge selection of books and some clothes, and they made up worksheets with question on them about advice, and all the kids wrote their own little things on each page.....it was very neat, and thoughtful. We are very lucky to be surrounded with so many wonderful people.
Lets talk about the baby a little. He is somewhere in the range of 6 pounds. And he is no-longer being compared to a fruit now........he has become a real person. A real small person, inside another persons stomach....weird. He has been moving around like a little wiggle worm ( obviously looking for the exit). We are still reading to him and playing him music most nights before bed. It is starting to become much harder for Michelle to get sleep. She is in and out all night, with no real REM sleep.....and the increased fluid has caused some disruption as well. That comes in the form of snoring......LOUD snoring. I have developed a simple yet effective way of relieving the pressure and stress that snoring causes, and I am going to continue to perfect my new sleep system so that soon I can market it to the entire country. Because it is only close family and friends who are viewing this, I feel comfortable sharing my secret system. Here it goes:
I take my pillow. Put it at the other end of the bed. And sleep facing Michelle's feet. THAT'S NOT ALL FOLKS. Get this! The noise of the ceiling fan combined with the noise of the humidifier.....cuts out the snoring by almost 90%......HELLO SLEEP!!!
On another note, we made a trip to the hospital on Sunday night and saw Steve and Chloe's new baby boy "Brady Joseph Reamer" who was born only minutes before we got there. I was able to watch him get his very first bath. He looked so calm and relaxed, I couldn't believe it. He was so cute. It made me very excited at first, and then I became very uncomfortably aware that we were only weeks away from the same fate......I am more excited, scared, nervous, happy, and in awe, as I have ever been...in my life. I can't describe how I feel with my sectional, determinate, and circumscribed vocabulary.
