Time is flying by right now..... I have been meaning to get on and update my blog for about 2 weeks. Obviously, I have been unsuccessful.
The good thing is, is that I have a ton of news. I suppose I will start with Thanksgiving. The plan this year was to head to Lansing and have deep fried turkey with my sister Leanne and her husband Marc. That WAS the plan, and as I have learned over the last 31 years.....plans change. Michelle scheduled cortitestosterone shots for her carpal tunnel on Wednesday. We were told that it would be minor pain for a day or two, and then it would be much better the rest of the month. The reality was much different. She was in tremendous pain for about a day and a half, and after 2 days it's basically back to the way it was before the shots. I suppose that the premise was like the old.....if your finger hurts, I will step on your toe......so now it seems to feel better, but only because the shots were so bad:)
Michelle had her baby shower, and it was a great success from what I hear. We have a rather large pile of baby things in our office. I am amazed at the amount of STUFF that you need to accommodate a baby. What the heck did they do in the dark ages? I did retain a little bit of knowledge from high school and college, and at no point did I read or hear about little baby Napoleon and his portable changing table, or his mothers Boppy and breast pump. As much as I would like to raise my son to be a great gladiator, from the looks of it,I think our time is past.
Our baby is doing perfectly fine!. When he moves around now it is starting to look like that scene in ALIENS ......right before that creepy alien pops out of that guys stomach. We have been trying to figure out if it's his knee or elbow that we keep seeing roll across her belly. We braved the mall this weekend to do some Christmas window shopping, and I picked up some nice headphones for my mp3 player. I am hoping for my son to have an ear for music, so we try to play him some music everyday.
Thanksgiving actually turned out to be a lot of fun. Michelle and I went to her moms and had Turkey dinner with her brother and soon-to-be sister in law. I was sure to give her mom some grief about a really funny phone call she made to me on Wednesday night. Lets break down the situation:
I got home from work....around 5pm. Made dinner for Michelle and I, and got some things ready for our trip that would never take place.
Our cousin Joe happened to have a birthday that same day, and we were invited to come to the bar and have a drink with them, as it would be a surprise to Joe.
So, the terrible husband that I am, I went......and Michelle stayed home ( she was really in pain)
there was nothing I could do for her.....and I was only going to be gone for one hour while she watched her movie ( Hairspray).
OK......I am at the bar. I had 1 drink, and was getting ready for number 2.....and then I swear on my life that I was going home after that. Apparently mom was going to make sure that I did! It was so cute, she called my phone, and of course I didn't hear it ring ( I was in the bar), and she leaves me this message........." your wife called me and she isn't doing very well, so I suggest you finish that beer and go home" I didn't even finish it:) I thought for sure when I arrived, I would be taking Michelle to the hospital ( I mean, she was unable to call me....she must be doing awful).
I get home in record time........there is my wife, on the phone with her friend Lisa.......laughing.
She remained doing so for the next 30 minutes. And then she asked me why I was home so fast........I love you mom Hardy..........
