We are finally getting sleep!! I shouldn't say we... because Michelle will hurt me, but I think you catch my drift. Drew has been sleeping great at night. He has been getting around 5 hours of strait sleep every night for the last week. I am actually unsure of how last night went, due to the fact that I was totally OUT. I believe Michelle may have punched me in the chest this morning when the alarm went off , not sure, but I have a bruise. We are starting to get the hang of this stuff I think.......
Drew has had some strange issues.....I have never heard the term " Wet-Baby" before, but in case anyone is curious, it is a reference to a baby that constantly spits-up and drools.....which is exactly what Drew does......all the time. It is the most incredible thing....he eats about 10 oz. of food and then spews up about 6. Then there is the cradle cap.......which we know to be very normal, but what I don't consider normal, is the remedy that our pediatrician suggests. She instructed us to ( and these are her exact words), just rub some olive oil, or whatever you have in the kitchen, on Drew's head, and leave a cap on it over night....................what!? Can we use bacon grease? What the heck does she mean " whatever is in the kitchen" ? Anyway, we aren't doing that. It seems to be clearing up fairly well with just shampoo and light scrubbing. If anyone has a better idea than olive oil....please advise.
And then we have the baby eczema, which luckily is very sporadic and not terribly bad. We were using Aquaphor at first, on his face.......then a friend said no, no, you need Baby Aveeno......which seemed to work good at first, but good ol' Drew was getting very upset with me when I applied it. Come to find out, that stuff was recalled because it burned when you put it on! SO, finally we find out at the doctor, that we should be using hydrocortizone cream. We started that, and TA-DA!! it's almost gone.
We are currently in the process of selling our house on top of all these other exciting things. We moved a bunch of our stuff to a storage unit over the weekend to help us "Stage" our house for walk troughs. I think that a big plate of Michelle's famous chocolate-chip cookies on the kitchen counter with a little note that says " Have as many as you like.....we think your all wonderful" will really put everyone in a great mood. We have been house shopping, albeit a little early, but there are so many homes for sale, that we really have to see what is out there. The thing is though........we found a house that we both love. It is close to where we are now, three times the size, with all the touches that we find important. So we made an offer on contingency that we sell our house. I hope that anyone reading this will please wish us luck on selling our home soon...because we are going to need it:)
I was making all these references to fruit when Drew was growing in the womb, but now that he is a real person, I think I am going to use animal references.......he weighed in at 12lb 1oz. on Friday, which I believe to be about the size of a large Beaver.
